Oliver James is looking for a Data Governance Officer for different roles, with strong capabilities.

As a Data Governance Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing data governance strategies and policies within our organisation. You will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with data regulations, establish data quality standards, and optimize data management processes. The primary goal of this role is to promote data integrity, security, and usability across the organisation

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Data Governance Framework:

      • Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
      • Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent data management practices throughout the organisation.

Data Quality Management:

      • Define and enforce data quality standards and procedures to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
      • Implement data quality monitoring tools and processes to identify and resolve data quality issues proactively.

Data Privacy and Compliance:

      • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other industry-specific data regulations.
      • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to assess data privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Data Classification and Security:

      • Classify data assets based on sensitivity and criticality and implement appropriate security controls to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
      • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify security vulnerabilities and address them in a timely manner.

Data Stewardship and Ownership:

      • Define data ownership roles and responsibilities across the organisation and establish data stewardship programs to promote accountability and data stewardship best practices.
      • Work closely with data owners and stewards to resolve data-related issues and conflicts.

Data Governance Education and Training:

      • Develop and deliver data governance training programs to raise awareness and promote understanding of data governance principles and best practices among employees.
      • Provide ongoing support and guidance to business units on data governance-related matters.

Qualifications

    • Master degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
    • At least 2 years of experience in data management or a similar role.
    • Good knowledge of data governance frameworks
    • Knowledge of data protection laws, and industry best practices.
    • Knowledge of data quality frameworks and tools such like (Informatica, Collibra, Pureview,…).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
    • Fluent in English and knowledge of French or Dutch
