A regional insurer is seeking for a Key Account Manager for their Bancassurance channel. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the key markets assigned (Malaysia and Indonesia).

Role and Responsibilities

This will include but not limited to:-

Sales planning

  • Preparation of annual budgets in alignment with local bancassurance teams and partner bank/s.
  • Identification of products, campaigns, funding and other internal support required to deliver the sales plan
  • Project management - to provide guidance and support to local bancassurance teams to ensure timely delivery of initiatives linked to the sales plan

Business development

  • Working closely with local bancassurance team on the following:-
  • Identification of opportunities to deepen or widen relationship with bank partners. Identifying opportunities in other markets and cross pollinating to key account markets
  • Development of new distribution channels - identifying bank channels currently not being used for distribution of the company's insurance products
  • Identification of new product bundling opportunities - identifying banking products and practices where the company's insurance offering could be bundled

Process improvement and issue resolution

  • Working closely with local bancassurance team on the following:-
  • Resolving operational or regulatory issues where revised business models or processes needs to be implemented
  • Identifying inefficiencies in current distribution model. Propose, implement improved distribution and administration processes

Performance monitoring

  • Forecast and track key account metrics. Providing timely management updates on the performance of key market and issues to be resolved
  • Providing assistance in the preparation on local country steering committee presentations and monthly bancassurance updates

Training and development of local bancassurance teams

  • Identifying areas of development within the local bancassurance teams in areas such as:-
  • Performance monitoring and governance
  • Business development - preparation of proposals, concept papers etc
  • Project management


  • Business or Insurance related degree/ qualification

Work experience and preferred skills

  • Preferably from MNC background with familiarity of regional operations
  • Proven work experience as an account manager
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation both internally and partner bank
  • Strong analytically and problem solving skill set. Ability to break down complex issues and resolve based on resources available.
